🖤F I R S T ... I have a heart for the class of 2020. Many of them have graduated and are in limbo waiting on their NEXT step. Is it grad school? A new job? A year of exploration? What is going to happen?!? While many of them may be finding themselves in their childhood bedrooms for a bit more time, some may find themselves in their first post-graduation apartment. I thought it would be fun to partner with my 2020 graduate @foreverbren for an apartment makeover on a budget. Sure, her apartment is on our property, but I wanted her to feel like it’s her home for now. Hopefully you caught the before videos and backstory on this inherited brown sofa in my Instagram stories. We added cream pillows from @ikeausa to soften the sofa and moved the table to cross function as sofa table, office and dining space. With the exception of the table accessories, faux plants and the new headboard, almost everything is shopped from around the house.

Dual purposed is the name of the game in Apartment Bee 🐝 . Right now it is the studio apartment of @foreverbren, but sometimes it will be a space for guests. With a fully functioning kitchen, the apartment could actually be completely self sufficient. This table has leaves to open to seat four for a meal, but as is, it can also serve as a desktop/workspace. And the sofa is a sleeper, so it could be shared. While it already has a full set of dishes, I’m working on stocking it with extra sheets and towels

We call this space Apartment Bee, on account of the cute door knocker that I added last month.

And by the way, that B. stands for Brenna, our 2020 graduate!🖤

Though Stanford’s 2020 graduation was canceled due to Covid-19, we found ways to celebrate our graduate.
